When I couldn't get
carbon snakes to work, I made exploding
cake in a mug. And for a last-minute holiday gift, I just put the barebones recipe on a mug, complete with crudely drawn illustrations. You can order them too from
Cafe Press. Order by Monday for holiday delivery.
This looks great fun! We have a microwave for the first time(because we are renting) and so we must take advantage!
ReplyDeleteLorna (and everyone), before you try this, note that this version uses *hot chocolate mix*, which has dry milk and sugar already in it. I adapted it from a recipe that used just plain cocoa which I found on Melissa Wiley's great blog: http://melissawiley.typepad.com/bonnyglen/2008/10/why-i-had-child.html
ReplyDeleteAlso, for your convenience, here's a link to a tablespoons to ml converter: http://www.calculateme.com/Volume/Tablespoons/ToMilliliters.htm
1 Tablespoon = 14.786764765625 Milliliters
Finally, be sure to tip the cake out into a dish and cut it open with a fork to let the steam out before eating. Otherwise it can get gummy.
Let me know if it works!
I don't think those links came out. Here's a shorter version:
